proudly presents a lovely Sonata 7.
This is a much-loved Sonata 7 has been used for family cruising. She
was built by Sonata Yachts in Newcastle and has a very complete inventory.
She is ready to spirit you and your family
away to paradise today. This is a Sonata 7 that you will be very proud to own.
The NSW registered dual axle Felk tilt trailer is in good condition and
has galvanised brake calipers & springs, bearing buddies, spare wheel and
an electric winch. Auxiliary
power is provided by a late-model 9.8 HP long shaft Tohatsu outboard & 22
litre fuel tank. Sail wardrobe includes five sails; fully-battened Dacron mainsail, genoa,
No 2 jib, spinnaker and a storm jib.
There is a jib furler for the headsails. Naturally a spinnaker pole,
whisker pole & boat hook are provided. Sun protection is provided
by a large bimini top for use underway and a large boom awning with side
curtains for use at
anchor. Galley includes two burner methylated spirits stove, sink,
ice box & 37 litre refrigerator (12 v or 240 v with inverter). Water
capacity is 57 litres main tank with additional 12 litres reserve
container. Safety gear includes liferails & two lifelines which are
fitted with quick-release clips for easy boarding from a jetty.
Other safety gear includes horn, fire blanket, V-sheet and a horse-shoe
lifebuoy. General equipment includes pop-top curtains, forward hatch
sun awning, a very large 125 watt solar panel to keep
the batteries charged, stainless steel boarding ladder, chemical toilet,
two anchors, navigation lights, interior lights, solar shower, fenders,
cockpit cushions, and more.
This lovely Sonata 7 has been set up for long-term cruising trips; even
when the mast lowered for transport, the cabin can still be easily
accessed, which makes staying on the boat enroute to your cruising
destination just that much more pleasant. She is a Newcastle-built
boat and boasts the elliptical-tip rudder blade.

Sonata 7's are a surprising boat; They are renowned as a stable
family cruising boat and excel in this role, with a swing keel,
shallow draft and flat bottom. They sleep up to four adults
comfortably and if need be, an additional two children if the dinette
table is lowered. There are very few trailer yachts that offer a
V-berth as large as a Sonata 7's, and for only 22'9" LOA they are a
surprisingly roomy boat. I know that we certainly loved Nirvana,
our Sonata 7. They also happen to sail very well, especially in
heavy weather, and are a well regarded boat in the club racing scene.
