For cruising and day sailing, she is
lovely and stable to sail thanks to nearly 300 Kg of ballast. Yet she
only draws 1.27 metres (4'2") with her stubby fin keel. The Red
Witch is classed as a true trailer yacht, as she can readily be
retrieved onto her custom-made trailer and towed home or to your next
cruising ground. The rig is simple, the mast short - specifically
so she could fit under
bridges in Fremantle, WA without lowering the mast - and there are ample sails in the wardrobe for
most conditions. The spinnaker is in brand new condition.
For the boy-racer on a budget, these boats will readily plane under
spinnaker in a fresh breeze. This boat has a very stiff hull and
deck. For the keen racers, the 31st Annual Red Witch national
titles will be held at East Fremantle Yacht Club, Western Australia, in
December 2005. Who needs an excuse to visit Fremantle though!
If you want a cheap mooring minder,
or maybe a cheap to run fishing boat for pottering about, the mast
and sails can be very easily removed and stored ashore.
This Red Witch is antifouled and can be moored if you wish, or keep her
on the registered trailer under cover at your home - the choice is
yours.
The Red Witch's cabin
boasts overnight accommodation for up to four people, good sitting
headroom for a smaller trailer yacht, and a basic galley - with a single
burner metho stove. She has four sails, main, jib, genoa &
spinnaker, a pulpit (not currently fitted), basic safeties and a registered single axle
trailer.
This lovely little trailer
yacht has just arrived, and she presents in beautiful condition. With the warm winds of summer just around
the corner this Red Witch won't be here for long.
