This boat
will only suit
the most fastidious buyer -
she was launched in 2003, has a lot
of extra options and presents in excellent condition
throughout. She has a comprehensive inventory with wheel steering,
near new Doyle dacron
mainsail with luff slides for easier sail handling, a near new Doyle dacron working jib. Trailer was custom made specifically for the boat by MacGregor USA
and is currently NSW registered with hydraulic
brakes & flushing attachment, and optional fore & aft guide arms for easier launching &
retrieving. The optional spare wheel is mounted on the drawbar. The motor is a 2003 model Mercury Four Stroke
"Bigfoot" 60 HP EFI outboard with
electric start and power tilt & trim and stainless "Vengeance" propeller.
Four stroke offers slightly lower fuel consumption which is an advantage
if you intend to use the boat for extended trips. Long range cruising is assisted by three fuel tanks - two 22 litre tanks
and a 15 litre tank.
She is set up for cruising with extra storage compartments, optional mast
lifting system, a chemical toilet & wash basin, Waeco
fridge/freezer under the settee, optional cockpit cushions
all-round, bimini top, Origo 2000 metho stove, sink, portable electric shower
(shower in the cockpit), Sony Radio-Cassette
& 6-stack CD Player with Sony speakers, 2 x 12 volt batteries, interior lights including
inside toilet compartment, navigation lights, Rule liquid-filled compass, first aid kit,
Life Harness, optional stainless
boarding ladder and more. All sail controls lead back to the cockpit
and the halyards are handled by optional Ronstan rope clutches.
In summary, this is a very late model cruising boat in excellent condition
throughout - a boat that
you will be proud to own.

The MacGregor 26 x Powersailer was proudly
built in the USA and hugely popular around the world as a cruising boat
for their unrivalled interior room, stability and light towing weight.
The large outboard motor enables them to power at a claimed 20 knots and
still handle well for a cruising boat under sail. They are self righting
(with ballast tanks full) and the built-in foam buoyancy provides a large
safety factor. The MacGregor 26 x powersailers are water ballasted
and need no internal fixed ballast, so are very light for size to tow.
They were supplied from the factory on single axle trailers.
The MacGregor 26 x boasts an airy open interior layout, with three double
berths, fully enclosed toilet & wash basin, galley and more. The
centreboard on the Mac 26 x is a swing keel, which is forgiving if you
accidentally run aground while sailing, and the flat hull shape means she
is very stable and will sit flat when the water goes out on Whitehaven
Beach in the Whitsunday Islands. The transom is wide and easy to
access either from the shore or water. They have an optional mast
handling system for easy mast raising and lowering, and all sail controls
lead back to the cockpit. MacGregor 26 x's have a huge cockpit with
cushions and an optional bimini top for sun protection. They are
very easy to handle whether under sail or power, and with wheel steering,
most beginners find themselves at home in no time.
