Once again Sailaway offers an ever-popular Careel 22 for sale.  Designed by Joe Adams and built by Careel Yachts, the Careel 22 Long Cockpit model emphasises stability, cockpit space and performance over interior room.  The long cockpit model is particularly sought after for daysailing with a heap of friends, or intimate weekends away & overnight trips.  Keen club racers love them due to their all-round performance and impressive heavy weather ability.  She is a cruising boat that just happens to have a very nice turn of speed - a typical Joe Adams design.

This Careel 22 demands an inspection now.  We do not see the long cockpit model presented like this one very often, especially at this price.  The dual axle Messent trailer is NSW registered, and features tilt facility for easier launch & retrieve from shallow ramps, a Powerwinch model 712A to take the effort out of retrieves, a spare wheel mounted on the frame, NSW standard flat-7 light connector and bearing buddies.  Brakes are cable over-ride discs for simplified maintenance.  The boat presents in good condition throughout for age and boasts main, four headsails, spinnaker and a canvas boom cover.  The iron spinnaker is a very nice Johnson 8 HP long shaft outboard, with 12 litre fuel tank.  It started very easily in our test-tank and ran well.  Other considerations include a good 12 volt battery and solar panel with regulator to keep it charged.  Interior lights (working), navigation lights, pushpit & pulpit, 4 winches (2 x sheet, 2 x halyard), Ronstan halyard clutches, 3 x fenders, V-sheet & flares (expired), manual bilge pump, 2 x fire extinguishers, liquid filled compass, 2 x danforth anchors, GME 27 MHz transceiver (working), Kenwood radio/cassette with Sony speakers (working), approx 20 litre water tank, boarding ladder, winch handle pockets, boat hook, halyard tail bags, chemical toilet and more.
