I have been lucky enough to have been sailing and travelling since I was about 5 years old. Some of my other interests include windsurfing, bushwalking, fishing, rock climbing, abseiling, canyoning, riding mountain bikes and playing OzTag in a mixed team competition. I didn't know just how lucky and unique my childhood was. I actually believed that everyone sailed. I am extremely grateful to my parents, my sister and family for the wonderful upbringing we had. How many other people grow up in one of Australia's largest cities with chooks, geese, ducks, a poddy calf, goats, a huge vegie patch and boxer dogs? I have a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in ecology and geology, and unsurprisingly, a natural affinity with animals. I was going to be a vet, but instead chose a career with Parks and Wildlife. On the 14th of April, 2000, I gave this up to go into business for myself - I have one major fear - that I will live my life, and be an old man, sitting back regretting all the opportunities I missed because I was too scared to give my all. Hence Sailaway. I have set myself a series of goals to achieve this year as a New Year's Resolution. I am prepared to talk about a few of them here, quietly published before the world as an incentive to ensure I achieve them. I don't think many people will find this page, but with the wonders of search engines, who knows how long it will take. . .
